Shop With A Cop/Firefighter

The Shop with a Cop/Firefighter program is designed to supplement holiday gifts for youth in families who meet certain income guidelines, as well as children in foster and guardianship homes during the holiday season.

Held every December, the program's focus is to take approximately 50 children ages 5-18, shopping for Christmas gifts.  These children, whose families qualify under the program's income guidelines, are allotted a set amount of money each to shop for themselves and others.  Their families are also provided a Christmas meal.  Our goal is to provide each of these children with an opportunity to experience Christmas in a way they might not otherwise have the opportunity to.  This is also an opportunity for the children to have a positive interaction with our first responders, an experience that will hopefully carry into their adolescence and adulthood.

Riverside First Responders have shopped with our local kids since the program's inception in 2006.  Each year since then, the program has grown with hundreds of kids served within our community.

The following family-size gross income criteria has been adopted by the F/PAL Program for determining eligibility.  Children from families whose current gross income is at or below those shown are eligible to be considered for participation in the Shop With a Cop/Firefighter Event.  Children must reside within the Park Hill School District to qualify.

Registration for the 2023 event is full and closed!
